Do I Feel The Rain?

This was slightly inspired by my friend Ariel who said I'm her rain without the clouds. I kind of built it off of that and eventually it took it's own meaning. To me this song means that even though life is bringing you down, you just have to get up and keep dancing because things will get better.

Do I feel the rain?
It’s cold I’m shivering,
Are puddles forming?
I’m standing here quivering.

There is nothing but darkness
And a cold veil surrounding,
Do the leaves drip?
Are the skies clouding?

In this dark world,
Feelings are blurred and numb,
Surrounded by darkness,
But I cannot succumb.

I cannot see a drop,
Pass in front of my eye,
Is it really rain?
Or does the sky cry?

I can’t see the rain,
But I dance all the same,
Because the clouds don’t remain.

I see nothing,
But clear skies overhead,
The rain still pours,
I can feel it on my head.

Moist frozen skin,
Drenched from head to toe,
I smile and dance,
As the wind does blow

I cannot see a drop,
Pass in front of my eye,
Is it really rain?
Or does the sky cry?

Not a cloud,
To dampen my spirit,
This rain breaks me free,
But I can only feel it.

Dancing in the darkness,
I throw my cares away,
Leaving life behind,
And living for today.

I cannot see a drop,
Pass in front of my eye,
Is it really rain?
Or does the sky cry?

Opening my eyes,
I find it is not the skies,
But really,
Tears from my eyes.

Looking up I smile,
With tears of pain,
But I still,
Dance all the same.
Because I know the clouds,
Will not always remain.
